SUMMARY:
A Clinical Coder vacancy has become available at a hospital in Cape Town. Clinical coding or Case Management experience essential.

POSITION INFO:
Key responsibility of the position:
The Clinical Coder is responsible for collaboration with hospital case management teams, liaison between the patients, clinicians and managed care organisations in order to provide clinical coding that is updated in accordance with the patient response to treatment, to ensure reimbursement from funders. Assess clinical statements and convert this information into ICD 10 and CPT coding on the patient account.

Education requirements – NON  negotiable:
Nursing Diploma or Enrolled Nurse Certificate
Registered with SANC
Intermediate OR Advanced ICD Coding certificate required

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years Clinical Coding or Case Management experience within a hospital
Multi-disciplinary clinical experience
Computer proficient
Good knowledge of medical terminology & detail orientated
Excellent communication skills
Due to the inherent requirements of the position a clear credit record is essential
