ACUDEO College requires an experienced and competent Cleaner. The purpose of a cleaner is to undertake, individually or as part of a team, the cleaning of a designated area and ensure it is kept in a clean and hygienic condition. Assuming the responsibility for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance around.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the school on a daily basis.
Each cleaner will be responsible for an area and will be expected to clean with the frequency and standards set out.
To ensure standards and procedures are adhered to.
To use cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically and inform the team leader when stocks are low.
To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to the team leader.
All cleaners are required to contribute to major cleaning tasks during school holidays.
Empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated areas.
To clean internal glass and internal and external door glass.
Where practicable ensure windows and doors are closed and lights switched off.
Report to team leader any defects seen which are likely to affect security or maintenance issues i.e., broken / cracked windows, loose carpets, damaged tables, and chairs etc.
Cleaners will be required to use electrical and mechanical equipment, i.e., Floor polishers etc. after appropriate training.
To be aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety of themselves and others.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

Must have Matric/Grade 12
Must have previous experience in cleaning.
Communicate effectively.
Must be physically fit, healthy, and energetic.
Experience in general cleaning and the utilization of electrical equipment e.g., vacuum cleaner.
Be a team player
Ability to prioritise and understand instructions.
