SUMMARY:
A global reinsurance entity is looking for a Claims Specialist with at least 5 years experience in the insurance industry

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Tertiary qualification

Skills and Experience:

• 5 years working experience assessing claims in a life insurance or reinsurance environment

Job description:

• Making correct claims decisions on claims validity and which claims can be rehabilitated.
• Undertaking focused research, which will generate competitive advantage through superior understanding of risk.
• Monitoring client claims management practices and ensuring they remain rigorous.
• Assess and administer claims from a variety of product lines according to Entity’s Claims philosophy and standards
• Participate in client audits, evaluating procedures and suggesting potential improvements
• Build on the existing relationships of the Entity’s Claims Team’s Internal and External Clients
• Conduct research and remain up to date with latest claims trends across the globe
• Produce articles and presentations for publications and events
• Maintain Industry involvement through membership of relevant industry committees
