Claims Finance Manager (Centurion)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications & Experience:

vExperience in short-term insurance financial environment, over 5 years, specifically in claims settlement (beneficial).

vIn-depth and current knowledge of all financial processes related to settlement of claims.

vTertiary accounting qualification.

vComputer Literacy – MS Office: Work, Excel, Outlook, Pastel Evolution, etc.

vExcellent Excel skills – ability to confidently use pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and similar functions.

Managerial Skills:

vIn-depth working knowledge of the short-term insurance and claims settlement processes.

vProficiency at developing, implementing and evaluating financial policies.

vAbility to establish and maintain strong working relationships with insurers and clients.

vPersistence and assertiveness combined with tact and diplomacy.

vExcellent written and verbal communication skills.

vPersuasive and confident communicator, able to deal with senior colleagues internally and externally.

vAbility to manage and support staff by facilitating relevant continuous professional development.

Analytical Skills:

vHigh level of numeracy and ability to perform financial reconciliations.

vUse financial knowledge, industry experience and creativity to resolve problems.

vInvestigate the root cause of problems and work towards a solution.

Job Purpose:

vTo manage all financial processes that result from the claims management business, including but not limited to:

vThe settlement of claims through payments to service providers and policy holders via various methods, being float accounts, insurers directly and self-paid aggregates.

vEnsuring the floats from the Insurers / Clients are topped up and all reconciling items are resolved.

vBank Reconciliations.

vStaff Management.

vProfessional communication and query resolution between all parties.
