Civil Site Engineer (DBN)

SUMMARY:
Professional civil engineering consultancy seeks a civil engineer to join their Durban office.
Suitable candidates must have extensive experience on roads, stormwater and sanitation projects.

POSITION INFO:

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Technology: Civil Engineering
• Bachelor of Science: Civil Engineering
• Tech/Pr. Eng advantageous
• SACPCMP registration advantageous
• LIC qualification advantageous
• Fluent in Sesotho and English

• Roads and Stormwater (roads, earthworks, stormwater including bulk and reticulation) including associated structures (culverts, manholes, attenuation)
• Water & Sanitation (water and sewer bulk and reticulation, water and/or sewer treatment works experience will be advantageous) including associated structures (reservoirs, pump stations).
• Project management and client engagement
• Preparation of Business Plans beneficial
• Tender document compilation (including preparation of Bill of Quantities and Specifications). Tender adjudication experience beneficial.
• Contract Administration (GCC 2015 including evaluation of claims, compilation of variation orders, preparation of contractual documentation and correspondence, management of programme and cashflow, chairing of progress meetings and preparation of minutes) (FIDIC experience beneficial).
• Construction Monitoring (Measurement and preparation of payment certificates, quality control, EPWP reporting).
• Basic CAD and Civil Designer experience will be beneficial.
• Use of Microsoft software including MS Projects
• Use of Bill software advantageous.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental regulations and processes.
• Knowledge of wayleave processes.
• Compilation of tender documents and pricing beneficial.
