SUMMARY:
Our national client in the Edible oil crushing and Refining sector is seeking a Chief Technical Officer.

8 years’ experience in edible oils operations (including crushing, refining and packing
Degree in Chemical engineering required (alternatively process engineering or industrial engineering)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Experience and a strong understanding of installation, new projects and project management in the FMCG industry
Must be financially and commercially skilled in budget management / control

Must have 5 + years’ experience in managing implementing and manging audits ( from safety to operational related audit
Ensure that business change projects are delivered in line with directions from Executive Management level.
Coordinate the efforts of the different operational areas under management to ensure minimal duplication of efforts, maximum efficiency and to maximize value for money.
Re-balance resources between different areas e.g. reallocating budgets, but within overall approved resources for the year.
Manage departmental budgets including signing off of invoices and quotes within mandate, including all relevant cost control initiatives.
Sign off capital expenditure within budget. This includes approving purchase or sell decisions for desktop computers, laptops, departmental equipment etc.
Analyse effectiveness of processes and systems in use in general for operations and recommend corrective action or automation.
Review performance against balanced scorecard components as prescribed by the Executive Management, discuss gaps and agree on action plans to close gaps.
Benchmark productivity of the department against industry standards and create measures to improve productivity.
Manage Strategic Projects within the operations to achieve production and operational efficiencies
Responsible for productivity of the operations within Operations as well as the maintenance of all operational equipment
