Chief Operating Officer

SUMMARY:
An NPO is looking for Chief Operation Officer. The COO is responsible for the organisational development aspects, Human Resource, Implementation of policies and procedures, and review of the finance function

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications and Experience

10 years experience at a senior management level in an operations management role

Solid understanding of financial management

Strong communication skills both verbal and written

Experience with NPO Environment

Responsibilities

Project Management

• Ensuring all project are running on time and on budget

Strategy implementation

• Develop and implement business strategies
• Attend meetings of the board and present the information risk
• Monitor legal issues 

Management of operations

• Ensuring both physical and remote offices are performing optimally, including appropriate access to computer, data, etc
• Ensuring appropriate procurement procedures are in place and implemented

Organisational Development

• Lead the development of the organisation through improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the operational process

Financial management

• Ensuring accountants are provided with all necessary information, and that all queries from the accountant are answered timeously
• Ensuring that donors are issued with 18A certificates as required

Human Resource

• Ensuring all staff have appropriate performance contracts, leave schedules are maintained and appropriate conduct is maintained
