A luxury 5-star hotel is looking for an experienced Chef De Partie. Satisfying guests' needs and exceeding guest expectations, are your number one priority. Responsible for assisting the Head Chef in maintaining good standards and an efficient operation, controlling, and guiding the staff on his own shift. JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the chef in checking the staff timing, grooming, and personnel cleanliness.
  • Does all the mise en place, preparation, cutting of meat, fish when the need arises, cooking and arranging of food as instructed.
  • Coordinate activities of Commis, Cooks and apprentices to ensure an efficient and smooth food service.
  • Controls cost by minimizing spoilage, and waste and exercising portion control.
 
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position
  • Be able to follow recipes and presentation of food and dishes as instructed
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen is up to HACCP standards
  • Ensure the highest quality of food and fresh produce
  • Good organisational and time management skills
 
Inherent Requirements:
  • Matric Certificate
  • Diploma in professional cookery advantageous
  • Full Covid-19 Vaccination is mandatory

  • Transport is possible between 18:00 pm – 06:00 am to Franschhoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch, therefore all other transportation would be up to the individual.
