SUMMARY:
SAP Release/Change Manager- 12 month Contract - Cape Town

POSITION INFO:

Principal Accountabilities:

Strategic requirements

· Develop and manage best practice Release Management processes for Company

· Partner on developed strategies to effectively manage changes across all SAP landscapes and application platforms.

· Provide oversight of the SAP Change Control processes and drive improvements as required.

· Support regulatory and compliance activities within the SAP change area.

· Coordinate the release of developed changes for all SAP and related applications

· Assess and control compliance on changes that are to be released to production.

Release Management

· Owns the end-to-end Release Management process from i-CAB (Initial Integrated Change Advisory Board) review to final CAB to release packages to production.

o Ensure adherence of projects to Release Management Processes

o Perform all daily activities that support the change control process (including activities in SAP Solution Manager)

o Participate in application releases with an emphasis on changes to and from all SAP application systems.

o Ensure releases are successfully deployed to the production environment in a controlled and systematic way, in line with the Release Management Plan.

· Coordinates cross team integration activities related to deployment of changes

· Collaborate with teams responsible for underlying applications that support SAP Platforms.

· Support project team members during deployment planning.

Incident Management (related to releases)

· Ensure remedial action is taken as quickly as possible if any unexpected situations occur in production environment post release.

· Support production and non-production activities related to SAP changes.

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor Degree or equivalent from a recognised institution
Prince2/PMP certification added advantage
ITIL qualification added advantage

Functional Skills

Ability to work in Multi-Cultural Teams across multiple timezones
Self-motivated with great organising skills

Relevant Experience

Complex Release Management experience in large commercial organisations

Experience in SAP & other solutions Change and Release Management processes
