SUMMARY:
Our client an international retail company that manufactures products across health, beauty, household, and snacks is looking to employ a Category Manager. This position reports to the Managing Director. The role involves occasional business travel to various locations around the world.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities

Manage strategic customer including customer plans, budgeting process, innovation pipeline
Inspire teams to deliver products and ranges at market related prices that exceed our customer expectations
Lead cross functional team and wider group functions to ensure customer expectations are always met
Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders throughout the business and alignment in the development process of all key priorities
Understand the market, product trends and research, including talking to end consumers and visiting stores
Assess competitor products to identify gaps, trends, and features in comparison to enhance your current customer product range.
Empower and develop your team, through coaching, training, and mentorship
Relentlessly pioneer the future and pursue ambitious growth opportunities in your customer base
Be resourceful & employ innovative solutions to deliver value, gross margin & volume targets for your customer
Be great at the basics of strong account management, negotiation, reporting and objection handling.

Key Competencies/Personal Profile

Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in FMCG national accounts.
Retail/FMCG experience essential working within the Supplier Base, preferably with Woolworths SA
Be able to work with large amounts of detail
Manage senior stakeholders internally and externally
Detail orientated with an ability to multi-task and set priorities
