POSITION INFO:

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of this post is to provide a support service in the George Campus Finance Department. Services include receiving payment from debtors of NMU and to assist in financial administration of the campus.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

The key performance areas for this post are as follows:

  • Performing all cashier related functions
  • Performing the reception duties at the campus
  • Handling all outgoing mail and courier parcels
  • Assist with all other Finance Department functions
  • Handling account queries
  • Assist with, and handle budget related queries of different departments

CORE COMPETENCIES

 

Core critical competencies for this post include:

  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven experience and accuracy in handling large volumes of cash in excess of R----- is essential,

                 preference will be given to applicants who have relevant bank telling experience.

  • Computer literate
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and systems
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Positive work attitude
  • Ability to work both alone and within a team to achieve specified standards
 

REQUIREMENTS

 
  • In order to be considered for appointment to this post, candidates must have a Matric certificate
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in cashier administration and office admin.
  • Additional qualification in finance and banking will receive preference.
