SUMMARY:
Our client a leading international telecommunications Company requires a Carrier Relations Manager/Procurement Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ procurement experience in the IT industry as a reseller partner with cross border supply experience.

The purpose of the position is the responsibility for procurement of the company’s products and services from regional vendors in order to support internal stakeholders by establishing and maintaining long-term beneficial relationships and strategies. The role supports sales and project teams in their growth and delivery objectives.

Qualifications required:
 
  • Qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management or related tertiary qualification.
  • Any Relevant Supply Chain / Business Management experience.
  • Contract Management experience/qualification.
  • ITIL basic foundation certification advantageous.
  • Project management or service delivery background advantageous.
  • Experience in telecommunications industry data networking products (MPLS, Ethernet, WAN etc.) will be advantageous.
Experience Required
  • MS Office and strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to put process in place that will improve efficiencies, resource utilization and add value to the business and their customers.
  • Advanced proficiency in sourcing and application of procurement processes and principles
  • Working knowledge of auditing and accounting principles a plus.
Other requirements
  • Valid passport.
  • Willing to travel internationally on an ad hoc basis.
Key Accountabilities: Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Driving the implementation of an appropriate and cost-effective procurement sourcing strategy within the governance and compliance framework of the business with the aim of reducing cost and complexity and improving procurement service levels and efficiency.
  • Managing the end-to-end supplier relationship management process by implementing a structured process of business and supplier engagement in order to manage risk and ensure vendor performance (Accountable for supplier evaluations. Determine key supply chain KPIs. With regular performance management of suppliers.)
  • Building and maintaining relationships with business and suppliers through active engagement and structured feedback processes to maximize business value through alignment of expectations.
  • Strong negotiation skills to ensure the best outcome for the company in all respects. Improve gross profit margin and profitability on the sale of commodities to customers
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams to ensure successful outcomes
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve escalated issues and ensure the end-to-end effectiveness of the procurement function and customer service.
  • Translating commercial strategy into department delivery activities and project plans to ensure execution.
  • Developing and implementing policies and processes for selecting and vetting suppliers by applying best practices to maximize value derived from the supplier base (Considering group Standards and policies).
  • Plays an integral role in ensuring a company sticks to budgets and operates profitably.
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Develop reporting for the department. Trend analysis. Feedback to all internal customers on the ETA’s of the service/goods ordered in a structure proactive way.
  • Provide reports on the procurement department to business as defined.
  • Manage supplier’s database to monitor price levels, activity and history with each supplier.

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain best practice.
  • Supplier, Contract management and Risk Management.
  • Excellent Negotiation and Communication skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Able to plan and schedule with insight.
  • Able to prioritize effectively and work with speed (can constantly re-evaluate priorities and act accordingly without compromising deliverables).
