Carbon and Energy Consultant

POSITION INFO:

Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates

A trusted independent consulting firm based in Gauteng, which specialises in an advisory service on carbon and energy is seeking to employ an experienced Carbon and Energy Consultant.

One will be responsible for assisting clients along their journey towards a low carbon business strategy and to assist clients to capitalise on the opportunities that come with moving towards a low carbon or carbon neutral business.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent in related discipline
Carbon Credits knowledge at a Consultant level is essential
A minimum of 2 – 3 years previous experience in providing consultancy services to organisations on compliance with National GHG Emission Reporting Regulations, Carbon Tax, and its associated Regulations. This includes support on audit and verification of GHG activity data.
Experienced in being responsible for Carbon credit project development and registration of carbon credits.
- An excellent understanding of and interest in GHG reporting compliance and carbon tax
- An understanding of recognised Greenhouse Gas reporting methodologies
- Experience in compiling energy and emissions data
- Experience in project and client management
