CTL Operator (Cut to Length)

SUMMARY:
Our client within the aluminium industry based in Olifantsfontein, has a vacancy for an experienced CTL Operator, to cut extrusion profiles down to the length required by the customer, ensuring that the dimensions and surface quality of each length are correct. A minimum of 2 years experience within the aluminium sector and a valid matric is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Testing the following saw movements:

• Turn the main switch on.
• Press cycle start button (clamp lower, saw blade move forward, saw blade lower.
• Set batch selector to manual.
• Raise batch belts.
• Move batch belt forward.
• Lower batch belt.
• Reverse belt batch.
• Press saw conveyor run (first roller on saw raise).
• Set discharge belt on manual.
• Raise stopper gauge.
• Read instructions carefully.
• Check the run-out length before cutting.
• Align the joints properly.
• Set the stopper as per the required length.
• Start cutting.
• Measure the cut length with the measuring tape.
• Check the saw cut.
• For lots where all metal cannot fit into one basket, the spillover metal will go into extra baskets. If there is one lot ticket it will go with one basket and the rest will be unaccompanied by the lot ticket. For such lots (parts-lots) enter basket numbers for all baskets used and quantities loaded onto the lot ticket to ensure traceability of the part-lots
