SUMMARY:
Our manufacturing client is looking for an experienced Cost accountant, coming from an manufacturing plant who imported stock.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our manufacturing client is looking for an experienced Cost accountant.  You will be reporting to Financial manager.  

Your duties will (obviously) include the costing aspect of the manufacturing plant but also the integration between the costing system and the accounting system. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 •    Complete degree (CIMA will be highly advantageous)

  • Cost accounting in a manufacturing plant (essential)
  • Experience working in a company who did imports will be highly advantageous
  • Syspro or Manufacturing Systems working knowledge (essential)
  • Knowledge of variance analysis and principles (essential)
  • Accounting Systems integration experience (essential)
  • SAP knowledge/experience (highly advantageous)

 

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Provide accurate and timeous gross profit reconciliations and reporting,
  • Improve cost allocations in line with ROCE metrics for the division,
  • Support management, by providing accurate cost of sales reports,
  • Identify and report on any COS waste reduction opportunities,
  • Integrate and automate Syspro/Pastel/SAP integration,
  • Update BOM costings and investigate differences,
  • Perform analytical procedures to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce costings,
  • Perform and report on Top line, turnover, units and GP for management including 3rd  Party sales,
  • Perform and post all fabric and trim movements to support Stock reporting,
  • Provide weekly feedback on all costing processes and ensure that all process exceptions are managed and resolved,
  • Identify risks and concerns and recommend mitigating actions,
