SUMMARY:
CNC Programmer

POSITION INFO:

Job requirements:

Ensure all newly released and proto-type machining programs are released and are up to date

Ensure all released changes via the ECM process, on existing parts are updated in the system

Provide individual innovative solutions with regards to programming based on knowledge and experience gained

Provide CNC programming training to identified individuals in the department

Ensure current programs are updated to include latest tooling technologies

Provide CNC programming support to the Machine shop’s CNC Machines and Operators

Ensure Operators understand the programming intent

Provide CNC programs for all new and proto-type parts.
Based on Engineering drawings new parts to be identified by Engineering Change Master (ECM)
Compile program to machine the part as identified by ECM.
Install program.
Test program.

Keep up to date all existing CNC programs currently in use as per ECM system

Keep up to date on Siemens, Fanuc and Mazak CNC programming languages by attending training courses or on-the-job

nterface with tooling suppliers to ensure correct and latest tooling is used.
Visit supplier
Identify tooling that may use
Test

Update programs to accommodate the new tools

Background:

Qualified CNC programmer/CNC Setter operator (Turner)

5 years’ experience as a CNC programmer in a heavy engineering environment

Able to read and understand Engineering Drawings

Knowledge of machine tools and setting of tools

Strong technical Aptitude

Experience in using Autodesk Inventor (CAD and HMS) and FeatureCAM Software will be advantageous

Knowledge and experience in Siemens, Fanuc and Mazak CNC programming languages (Min 2)

Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite of applications
