SUMMARY:
Our Client seeks a well experienced CNC Programmer responsible for overseeing the cost effective and efficient flow of manufacture of engineering spares in FMS workshop for the maintenance of the production plants.

POSITION INFO:

The incumbent will be required to develop programs and oversee the manufacture of components in FMS Workshop according to approved drawings. Any changes to manufacturing methods tolerances or dimensions have to be approved by the ETM; however, the incumbent is expected to identify errors in drawings, better cost effective manufacturing methods and improvements as issues may arise.
Programme and tool setting of machines for manufacturing of spares based on information on job cards and detailed on drawings

Set machinery for operators to manufacture spares for production plants, measure and inspect work pieces to ensure they meet specification as detailed on drawings
Maintain jigs, fixtures, equipment and workplace in a professional, safe and efficiency-related condition.
Maintain stock levels of machine tooling.
Optimize equipment efficiency by suggesting and implementing improvements.
Do basic maintenance of workshop equipment as per machine register
Perform safety and health inspections.
Minimise manufacturing waste by efficient work practices
Assist in the training and development of new incumbents in the workshop.
Provide appropriate and adequate feedback and input to the ETM with respect to safety and health, equipment condition, spares and scheduling required.

Inherent Requirements- Qualifications and Experience

Must have;

Matric / Grade 12 / N2 qualification with a strong understanding of engineering drawing.
In possession of a Trade Certificate/ must be a qualified tradesman
Minimum 3-5 years machine shop experience and CNC programming
Must be computer literate in MS Office
