SUMMARY:
Our manufacturing client is seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator, to manufacture hydraulic components as per drawing and at times per sample as well as set CNC Machine tooling according to drawing / program specifications.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric)/N3 or equivalent
Minimum of 4 years in manufacturing

Responsibilities but not limited to:

Machining of different hydraulic components according to drawing specifications, following the job card as procedure for manufacturing.
Setting and operating FANUC controlled CNC Machines (VMC: Vertical Machining Centres and CNC Lathe Machines)
De burring of all manufactured parts.
Ensure that the set target dates are met, as per job card.
Fill the position of general fitting and turning as and when required.
Assist Workshop Foreman in the machine workshop as and when requested/required.
Submit requisitions for tool purchase.
Keep stock of inserts and tools.
In charge of the PPE equipment – issue and control.
Complete checklist on machine.
May set up and use measuring instruments/devices according to own interpretation of complex specifications/drawings. Includes using standard statistical process control techniques for problem solving and for non-routine adjustments. May require the use of mathematical calculations.
Adhere to safety regulations.
Report any incidences to the necessary authorities.
