POSITION INFO:

A distributor of electronic security products requires the services of an experienced Buyer (with CIPS/ISM certification) for their operation on the East Rand

RESPONSIBILITIES

Â

• Responsible for the entire buying process from order placement to delivery for both internal and external customers
• Handle all price requests, due date requests, and other queries promptly
• Issue RFQ’s to Suppliers and select best Supplier option based on quality, cost and delivery date
• Convert RFQ’s to Purchase Orders once they have been accepted and expedite deliveries
• Handle queries with respect to price and Suppliers
• Act as a liaison between Suppliers and internal customers
• Build Supplier Relationships
• Complete COD payment requests
• Maintain inventory levels in line with stock policy holding
• Maintain stock code accuracy in Syspro
• Maintain Purchase orders according to the Syspro Optimizer system
• Monitor Supplier performance and assist HOD with Supplier KPI maintenance/updates
• Understand the impact of contracts that include cost, warranties, delivery, handling and penalties for late delivery as well as cost overruns
• Oversee Imports when the Shipping Administrator is not available
• Assist Team members with tasks as required
• Maintains ISO Compliancy

Requirements

• Grade 12/Matric
• Must have, minimum of 5 years buying/procurement experience, preferably with electronic equipment
• Must have 2 years Syspro experience
• CIPS/ISM Certification is preferred
• Imports knowledge and experience is essential
• Must be computer literate – MS Office, intermediate Excel skills is essential
• Good problem solving ability
• Good communication skills – verbal and written with people at all levels within the company
