Our client is a medium sized national consulting engineering firm specializing in civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services, and project management and environmental consulting
Job Description
You will be responsible for the following in the main:
- Planning, design and contract administration of engineering and building projects from inception to completion.
- Preparing engineering calculations and technical specifications.
- Providing input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates and preparation of tender documents
- Preparation of reports (Project Inception, Concept and Viability, Design, tender evaluation, progress, financial, close-out, etc).
- Handling technical queries and resolutions and leading Site and Technical Meetings on site, including the taking of minutes.
- Assisting with project safety and environmental matters during construction.
Qualifications
- BSc / BTech degree in Civil Engineering preferably structural engineering or related
Skills
- 5+ years of experience as contained in the job description
- Registration with ECSA as a PrEng or PrTechEng or working towards professional registration.
- Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards.
- Proficient in the use of Master Series or Prokon, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Office Project
