POSITION INFO:
Purpose of position:
This position is responsible for leading all aspects of finance, accounting, and reporting. It oversees daily financial operations including accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general administration. It ensures that effective systems and procedures are in place to maintain strong financial management practices. The position reports to the CFO.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified CA(SA) with Articles
- More than 7 years experience in financial accounting, planning, analysis, management control, business planning, cash flow management, and financial sustainability
- Advanced Excel
- Senior financial management experience
Duties and Responsibilities:- Oversee financial management across all projects and programs, ensuring spending aligns with approved budgets and compiling comprehensive financial reports.
- Participate actively in budgeting and audit processes, ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
- Maintain strong internal controls and safeguards for managing revenues, expenses, budgets, and expenditures.
- Coordinate and manage all audit processes.
- Regularly analyze financial data and deliver timely, accurate financial reports; provide clear communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and updates to senior leadership.
- Manage all accounting, ledger, and reporting functions, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Support leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; review financial plans, compare actuals against forecasts, and explain or correct variances as needed.
- Work with the CFO to address key financial and operational trends and challenges.
- Manage cash flow forecasting in collaboration with relevant teams, continuously improving financial systems and administrative processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Prepare, review, and submit various financial reports, reconciliations, schedules, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and audit financial records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct financial analysis and monitor internal control systems.
