CAD Draughtsman

Join one of the largest retailers in South Africa as their CAD Draughtsman.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed drawings for fabrication/manufacturing
• Generate Solid and Surface CAD models using standardised CAD software
• Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings
• Plan strategic store layout
• Presenting various design perspectives for construction improvements and adaptations
• Work closely with the architectural team and property/business development managers to obtain critical design inputs and ideas
• Collaborate with Store Designers and key stakeholders on store layouts and contribute to the new store design meetings
• Presenting ideas to the client including layouts, structures and display
• Blending technique and aesthetics to create final designs
• Adhere to and ensure that product designs meet required safety and structural standards
• Working with the client to help them understand the final solution and its benefits
• Blending technique and aesthetics to create final designs. 

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Engineering or related field
• 1+ years experience as a CAD Draughtsman or similar role
• Experience drafting and designing products or layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software - ArchiCAD or AutoCAD
• Working knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software
• Exposure to and an understanding of retail orientated environments, store formats etc
