Buying Assistant

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Matric
• Excellent telephone and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel and email
• Attention to detail
• Analytical, structured and systematic in their undertaking of their work and duties.
• A passion for retail and fashion, retail store experience advantageous
• Must be able to excel under pressure
• Be assertive and determined in ensuring goals are achieved within their allocated department 

Duties include the following, but not limited to:

• Capture of orders on the POS system
• Samples management to and from suppliers
• Arrange price ticket for ordered items for delivery to suppliers
• Follow up outstanding orders with Suppliers
• Arrange collection of goods and schedule delivery dates for warehouse receipt
• Liaise with buyers and suppliers on future orders and expected delivery dates
• Allocation of goods received to stores
• Monitoring of sales at product level
• Monitor and action consolidations
• Monitor and action goods for return to supplier and reject stock
• Recall of items from stores
• Redistribution of repeat lines to stores
• Monitor and action late deliveries and cancellation of orders with suppliers and buyers
• Identification of fast and slow sellers in stores
• Identify lines for mark down/ mark up
• Monitor stock levels at category level to ensure consistency in supply
• Report on problems and inefficiencies to management
• Identification of potential advertised lines and assist marketing in collating goods for advertising
• Other adhoc duties specific to the buying department

Salary: Market Related
