Buyer/Planner

SUMMARY:
Client based in the West Rand is seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner with experience with Spare Parts - Minimum 4 years experience as a Buyer/Planner

POSITION INFO:
Only candidates with the following experience will be considered:

Requirements, skills and attributes:

Minimum: Grade 12 (or equivalent). 
Bachelor degree/diploma in relevant fields.
At least 3-5 years proven working experience as    Buyer/Planner.

Spares experience essential.
 
Key duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

• Oversee spares inventory according to company spares guidelines/methodology.
• Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory within our systems.
• Monitor product codes to search for discrepancies, as well as ensure physical inventory corresponds with master data within the system
• Respond to sales and workshop on all spares enquiries regarding ETAs, pricing, lead times, alternatives, exploded diagrams and buyouts. 
• Maintain updated spares product information such as exploded diagrams on internal servers. 
• Track rates of sales, as well as repairs of items to inform purchasing decisions.
• Prepare, generate, and review suggested purchase orders using the demand planning system.
• Creation and suggestion of spare items to list for new product launches.
• Maintain spares pricing according to company policy and communicate any changes to stakeholders
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with workshops, warehouse, suppliers, customer service and sales.
• Execute signed off purchase orders with shipping and suppliers.
• Update ETAs in the system and expedite overdue orders with suppliers.
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time and in full to agreed specification to avoid disruptions to service.
• Sourcing of local alternatives. 
• Ensure optimal spares inventory levels to reduce backorders, improve service and reduce excess inventory.
