Buyer – Construction Plant & Crushing experience essential

POSITION INFO:
Buyer – Construction Plant & Crushing
Compiles relevant procurement information for the cost-effective procurement of spare parts, ensuring accurate
and timeous delivery to sites.

Qualification, Experience and Technical Requirement

Matric Certificate
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Sound knowledge of Construction Plant, Equipment and Spare parts
SAGE Accounting would be advantageous
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of construction equipment, earth moving equipment and crusher parts
Knowledge of suppliers of various plant
Knowledge of the procurement process and general ledger codes
Company policies and procedures
Sage Accounting
Excellent command of English language (reading, writing and communicating)
Planning, organizing, prioritizing and time management skills are important
Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
High level of attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to work under pressure

Roles and Responsibilities

Request quotes from suppliers (minimum 3 quotes)
Select supplier based on price and availability or use the applicable supplier
Load supplier and price into Sage Accounting and send purchase order to supplier
Follow up with supplier on late orders or incorrect parts, get ETA on parts unavailable
Arrange critical parts and package if in stock
Arrange for courier to collect/ deliver spares
Provide instruction to the Driver to collect parts from suppliers or arrange alternative transport when required
Request authorization for purchases of large components, major repairs on plant or unusual purchases
Inform Management when parts are not available nationally
Order of lubricants on-line for delivery nationally.
Attend to administration regarding payments of orders and invoices, filing of quotations and updating of supplier database.
Decide on applicable transportation for plant components based on size and weight and liaise with Transport Coordinator, request authorization where needed
Assist with all aspects of distribution of parts or materials, including; loading, ensuring all parts materials captured are loaded, following up on receipt, communicate delays and or other concerns

Remuneration and Contract
Permanent Contract (3 Months’ Probation – deferred benefits during this time e.g., pension fund, medical
aid, etc.)

Monthly CTC: R24 000 – R29 000 Negotiable Dependent on Experience
