SUMMARY:
Buyer

Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer that MUST HAVE:

A tertiary qualification in Purchasing/Logistics or definite sound experience
Min 5 years buying experience in manufacturing/FMCG
Technical buying experience
2+ years experience in material planning, inventory management
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
Advanced Excel skills
More manual application than new systems
Strong character to work under pressure

The role requires a strong foundation of skills and knowledge of purchasing and supplier sourcing.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities

Supplier performance KPIs
RFQ/Contract negotiations
Stakeholder relationship management (internal and external)
Complex negotiations with suppliers
Manage projects and perform purchasing tenders and supplier selection
Monitor supplier performance and contract execution
Review market developments that affect individual categories
Manages day-to-day supplier relationship activities
Executes sourcing projects to deliver YOY savings
Work with Procurement Manager
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Place purchase orders for consumable, maintenance spares and raw materials
Control imported material for production
Arrange import transportation with freight forwarder
Comply with BBBEE requirements in terms of Supplier management
