SUMMARY:
Our client, a forward-looking innovator and manufacturer in the technical textiles and personal protective equipment industry, is looking for an individual who possesses the same values to join their growing team, reporting to the Senior Buyer.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Person:

Degree or Diploma in Purchasing/Logistics/Supply Chain.
Minimum 2 to 3 years Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
JDE experience is essential.
Computer literate, pref. on an MRP System
ISO 9001 knowledge.
Must have a technical background.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Process purchase orders on allocated commodities.
Assist with price negotiations with suppliers.
Carry out cost models and benchmarking exercises.
Liaise with the suppliers regarding quality and delivery issues.
Assist with sourcing of materials and with rationalisation projects.
Assist with cost savings and reductions projects.
Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships.
Attend to any duties assigned by Senior Buyer.
Support the Expeditors in maintaining stock quantities.
