SUMMARY:
Here is a great opportunity for an experienced Buyer within the Electrical manufacturing Industry to join a company that uses cutting edge technologies. Use your ERP or inventory management skills to form part of a growing company that focuses on delivering excellent electronic products for an international market.

POSITION INFO:

You will be responsible for negotiating terms and drive resolution with suppliers on price increases

Responsible for keeping supplier pricing details up to date, material quality, lead time, and delivery and invoice discrepancies

You will have to Implement and improve materials management procedures and policies with suppliers and the production team

Responsible for cost management with the focus on cost reduction, effective planning, and waste reduction

Key Management of the inventory cycle

Liaise with management regarding problems such as shortages, design changes, backlogs

Ensure the Purchase Order Policy and Procedures are strictly adhered to at all times and enforced throughout the business

Facilitate inventory management by the accurate upkeep of the detailed inventory list, inventory levels are kept at appropriate levels, lead time, acting on cancellation requests, supporting other inventory programs

Maintaining appropriate documents, logs and correspondence that support the procurement function

Responsible for Assisting with stock take

Skills & Experience:  

Advanced Excel skills (Vlook-ups, Pivots, etc) will be advantageous

Must be an analytical thinker

Well organized and detail oriented

Must be a strong team player

Must be computer literate (MS Office)

Experience of ERP or inventory management, cost analysis, supplier management, process/policy improvement initiation and production forecasting

Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Buyer within the electrical manufacturing industry

Qualification:

BEng / BSc / BTech Business / Supply chain management or equivalent

Valid Drivers’ License

Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
