SUMMARY:
Buyer

POSITION INFO:

KEY RESULT AREAS

Purchase items by soliciting competitive quotations for goods,
materials, services and equipment.
Maintain and improve relationships with suppliers.
Expediting outstanding/overdue orders.
Identify new and alternative suppliers and products,
Update, monitor and manage stock levels.
Identify repairable items as per recommended orders,

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFIGATIONS

[Grade 12 supported by a relevant post matric qualification.
Higher Professional Diploma, or equivalent qualification
Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years or proven purchasing experience, preferably within an
engineering or manufacturing environment
Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
Contract management and supplier experience.
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering and
manufacturing processes and components and supply chain
management.
Computer literate, to include advanced Excel skill.
High ERP system acumen.
Experience to the tendering / quotation process.
