SUMMARY:
Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a suitably qualified Buyer to support the department to meet its objectives so as to contribute positively to the overall company objectives.

POSITION INFO:

Duties       

• Organise, update and maintain supplier database
• Maintenance of contracts and credit applications with suppliers
• Generation of purchase orders
• Completion of purchase orders in terms of agreed deliveries
• Price regulation
• Compliance of CSA’s payment terms or substantiation of deviations
• Management of call outs for emergencies/breakdowns and subsequent authorisation to ensure suppliers carry out work with a purchase order
• Responsible for the collection of supplier BBBEE certification and other compliance documentation
• Collect all OE letters
• Reduce single sourcing
• Monthly spend report and monthly cost savings report
• Sourcing
• Cost saving
• Sourcing

Minimum Requirements

• University Degree in Supply Chain (majoring in procurement) or Procurement
• 3-5 years’ buying work experience   
• Negotiation, cost savings, analyses and sourcing skills
• Accurate information gathering and analysis
• Awareness of company mission
• Decisive
• Good verbal and written communication
• Adaptable
• Independent
• Perseverance
• Problem solving (solutions driven)
