SUMMARY:
This global manufacturing company is currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Buyer to support the department to meet its objectives so as to contribute positively to the overall company objectives.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Degree in Supply Chain (Majoring in Procurement) or Procurement (non-negotiable).
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ buying experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the procurement of maintenance equipment; spares and engineering equipment (non-negotiable).
• Skills - negotiation, cost savings, analyses, sourcing.

Key Job Functions:

• Vendor selection.
• Organise, update and maintain supplier database.
• Maintain contracts and credit applications with suppliers.
• Generate and complete purchase orders in terms of agreed deliveries.
• Price regulation.
• Compliance of the company''s payment terms or substantiation of deviations.
• Manage call outs for emergencies/breakdowns and subsequent authorisation to ensure suppliers carry out work with a purchase order.
• Responsible for the collection of supplier BBBEE certification and other compliance documentation.
• Collect all OE letters.
• Reduce single sourcing.
• Monthly spend report and cost savings report.
• Sourcing and cost saving.
