Salary: R25 ------ per month 
Relocation date: April/May 2021

A fantastic opportunity for a skilled and energetic Butcher to join a Butchery in the British Virgin Islands!!  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years experience processing meat and running a butchery.  

The company will assist the successful candidate over the first three months with transport, health insurance, social security and finding suitable accommodation.  Please note that the company will contribute to flights to and from the BVI

Requirements: 

Butcher qualification

US Visa Preferred but not required

No Criminal record 

Willing to work holidays and/or weekends (with overtime pay)

Able to lift heavy items

Must fulfill all work permit requirements for the British Virgin Islands as follows: Valid Passport, Health Certificate, Clear Police Record

Outgoing and open minded. Great customer service oriented and the ability to think outside of the box

Wiling to train others

Able to customise products

Has a great work ethic and is able to work unsupervised

Ability to maintain equipment preferred but not required

Be familiarized with USDA or equivalent standards

 

Duties: 

Preparing meat in accordance with laid down procedures

Reducing meat wastage wherever possible

Ensuring the availability of quality meat for customers

Receiving deliveries of meat and checking their content and hygiene

Ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Cutting meat both for display for customers

Preparing poultry by cleaning, cutting and discarding inedible parts

Planning for seasonal changes and reacting accordingly

Cutting, boning and trimming meat

Taking money from customers and then giving them a receipt

Ensuring that all meat is handled and stored correctly

Preparing special cuts of meats ordered by customers

Carrying out temperature checks on meat and recording the readings accordingly

Using processing, fabricating and packing machines

Cutting and weighing steaks; preparing roasts, chops, stew cubes, and ground meat

Complying with all health, sanitation, and local laws
