Business System Analyst

SUMMARY:
Business System Analyst: Focussing on business-as-usual deliverables and support for 3 regions.

5 days full time on site - Sandton based:

Purpose:

Focussing on business-as-usual deliverables and support for 3 regions.

D&S Feedback: Working closely with the support team in analysing the requests as per the data calculations.

Responsibilities:

• Participate and drive technical design sessions with IT architects when required before compiling the functional specifications.
• Design and manage the implementation of automated schedules in Control-M with the respective team.
• When applicable, create and document test scenarios for testing purposes.
• Work with the Data Warehouse team to define and source new data requirements and maintain the team’s data mapping specifications.
• Work with the software vendor on system specific issues and the resolutions of it
• Participate in the full SDLC process but responsible for managing the entire delivery – from understanding the requirements, to documentation, managing the change with developers, testing of the change, logging the change control and review the changes post deployment.
• Involved in general day-to-day production application support and operational requests from business – data and system specific queries and the resolution of them.

Requirements:

• 5 + years working as a Systems/Business Analyst preferably in the Banking or Financial industry
• Ability to write SQL queries to retrieve data from databases
• Prior work experience or knowledge of financial market instruments is a must have
• Exposure to either of the following: Credit Instruments, Credit Structures, Credit Modelling
• And understanding of the credit jargon
• Must be able to do SQL Queries within the databases and work through the Data elements as they will be working closely on an external vendor’s system which calculates the “Credit Risk” calculation.  
• Experience with ETL and SQL
• Exposure to Credit Regulations – From an origination perspective.  (Not from a Receiving end)
