You will find yourself soliciting, negotiating and managing third party developer joint ventures as well as funding partnerships in Mozambique and Angola. You are just the person we’re looking for if you are fluent in both English and Portuguese due to the reporting and high-level communication requirements of your KPI’s. You will be provided with the chance to identify new strategic off-grid project opportunities as well as translate strategy into executable business plans and financial models. Since you will be heading up the business development activities in the mentioned territories having an established network will work in your favour as you build a solid pipeline of projects for the deployment team to act on. Furthermore, you must be well versed with the due diligence requirements of vetting the right partnerships which will benefit your long-term goal of generating financially sound projects for the firm. You will also be tasked with setting clear goals and expectations which requires you to be highly organised, highly-tech savvy and commercially astute!

It is important that you have a basic understanding of renewable energy electric power systems, you are intelligent and eager to learn as well as be flexible and eager to lend a hand wherever needed, even if a specific task may fall outside the core job description. You are the ideal candidate if you have an understanding of the flow of energy from generation through distribution to the customer, the basics of energy consumption as well as the fundamentals of electric power operations which provide a positive ROI. A requirement for this position is a strong understanding of the regulatory legislation and energy access requirements per country. You will need to be able to put systems and processes in place (or optimize current SOP’s) to scan for risks, changes in the market or regulations, and understand how this affects the various stakeholders involved.
