As a Business Analyst, the focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of customer''s business processes, services and the context in which the business operates. You will be responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. Furthermore, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.

Your day-to-day

Financial

ï‚Ÿ Translate business needs into functional specification for utilisation by developers when developing the system in order to improve profitability

People

ï‚Ÿ Ensure your personal upskilling and growth through participating in personal development activities

ï‚Ÿ Establish performance and development goals for your employees through continuous appraisal of your direct reports and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to ensure improved performance

ï‚Ÿ Ensure that all legislative and operational training is conducted in line with group requirements and/or training department directives 

Operational

ï‚Ÿ Serve as a liaison between business and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement and implementations

ï‚Ÿ Support and align efforts to meet business needs

ï‚Ÿ Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process

ï‚Ÿ Assess business process and system inefficiencies

ï‚Ÿ Identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive)

ï‚Ÿ Elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements

ï‚Ÿ Meet with development team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines

ï‚Ÿ Monitor the progress of the development cycle

ï‚Ÿ Assist with and test implementation of systems to ensure service are delivered according to requirements

ï‚Ÿ Support system conversions, upgrades and enhancements

ï‚Ÿ Perform other duties as assigned

ï‚Ÿ To always be on the lookout for and be aware of any enhancements that could improve the group’s product offering, service delivery, productivity and efficiencies and to communicate such to the group

ï‚Ÿ Ensure that the current recognition and rewards programme is supported and lived a daily basis

Service

ï‚Ÿ Collaborate with colleagues and hotel team members to establish and implement services and programmes that meet or exceed guest expectations

ï‚Ÿ Initiate, build, grow and nurture excellent professional relationships with all stakeholders

ï‚Ÿ Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders

Your job requirements

ï‚Ÿ Grade 12/Equivalent

ï‚Ÿ IT related qualification is a must

ï‚Ÿ Data analysis – The applicant must have proficiency with programming/database, Microsoft Excel for at least 1 – 5 years

ï‚Ÿ Understanding of and experience in writing up business requirements (advantageous)

ï‚Ÿ The job requires honesty in the handling of cash or finances

ï‚Ÿ Must be willing to working weekends and after hours should the need arise.
