We are currently looking for a qualified young and enthusiastic BREAKFAST CHEF to join the team as they launch. The guesthouse is located on the side of Northcliff Hill with magnificent views to the North over the suburbs, and up onto the veld and rocky outcrops to the South. The Guesthouse comprises of 5 rooms and will therefore give extra attention to all guest requirements and needs.
As ideal candidate you will have:
- Grade 12 Qualification
- Certificate/Diploma in culinary arts
- At least 2 years previous experience from 5-star hotel or guesthouse will be a great advantage
- Basic computer skills

General Job Description
- Preparation, cooking, plating and presentation of all menu options
- Manage the entire meal including orders, cooking, plating, serving
- Work around guests’ special dietary requirements as needed like; Lactose intolerant, Gluten-free, allergies, Kosher, Diabetics, Banting, etc.
- Help develop and plan lunch and dinner menus
- Manage customer complaints and special orders
- Manage and maintain high standards of hygiene, cooking according to food health and safety standards
- Help manage budgets and keeping wastage to a minimum
- Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen and dining room before and after service
- Ensure food is prepared and presented at the highest quality and standard at all times.
- Clean, fill & maintain coffee & tea station.
- Manage stock, storage and packaging of food, beverages and cleaning materials
- generating a shopping list as needed
- Hosting guests
