JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Ensure that floor clearance executes within the set staging times.
* Ensure that no stock is placed in storage or picking locations in the warehouse prior to being accurately captured in MS Business Central (ERP).
* Ensure that products are sorted and defaced according to policies and procedures.
* Check that stock is received in good order and within its best before date.
* Ensure that stock quantities are verified as correct upon receipt against the supplier delivery note.
* Supervise the dispatching process; ensuring that products are correctly picked and captured into the stock system at all times.
* Ensure that no goods are dispatched to BOs without all the correct documentation is present in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Ensure that all goods that are dispatched from the warehouse are correctly packed and damage-free.
* Supervise the loading of goods onto vehicles and ensure all policies and procedures are followed regarding the dispatch and delivery of goods.
* Ensure that the physical and system stock matches, by completing regular cyclical counts with staff and the Branch Manager.
* Ensure proper stock rotation using the principle of the first expiry first out.
* Assist in the execution of monthly stock takes.
* Manage issues encountered around damaged stock or shortages.
* Report any incident which may occur in the warehouse that relates to
Staff safety
Stock risk
Performance
* Explain the plan to be executed for the day/week, providing all key information to perform tasks.
* Ensure that staff do not eat or steal donated food at any time.
* Ensure staff members do not eat their own food on the warehouse floor at any time.
* Ensure maximum productivity by ensuring that:
A safe and clean working environment is maintained
Staff instructions are clear and understood
Staff are aware of their responsibilities
* Provide categories of work to be completed by all staff members.
* Ensure all staff are equipped with the appropriate protective clothing (PPE) and ensure that such clothing or equipment is correctly used in the workplace.
* Hold weekly team meetings with the Branch manager and staff.
* Ensure that staff work together in harmony to achieve a common goal.
* Ensure the warehouse (including receiving and dispatch areas) are kept clean and neat by regularly inspecting the various areas.
* Arrange for damaged goods to be left in the designated area of the warehouse within their designated and identifiable categories - repack; repair, and dump.
* Check that lighting is adequate, doors open and close easily, and any other issues that may impact productivity.
* Report areas in need of attention to the Branch Manager and follow up.
* Ensure that all racks are clear from any damaged or dangerous pallets.
* Ensure that the forklift/moving equipment is maintained and in good working order.
* Ensure that all equipment/tools of the trade are operated in a safe and efficient manner, following prescribed work methods.
* Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vehicles.

Key Skills
*Strong administrative and inventory management experience.
*Supervisory experience within the retail or wholesale food industry.
*Proficiency with MS Business Central (ERP).
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office environment and standard office and warehouse equipment and systems is necessary.
*Passion for working in the NPO sector and wanting to make a difference.
*Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work.
*Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
*Must be able to pass criminal background checks ad credit references.

 
Qualifications
 
*At Least 6 Years of Warehouse Management experience.
*At Least 4 Years of Experience in the FMCG industry.
* A Supply Chain or Logistics Management Qualification.
*Strong staff management and IR Experience.
