POSITION INFO:

Corporate advisory firm has the following vacancy in their finance department.

1. Job Purpose

The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and reported to support the organization’s financial integrity and compliance requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

2.1 Probation period (AP clerk role till after probation)

• Receive, verify, & capture supplier invoices on Xero & payment schedule for the entire
group
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for all transactions
• Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve variances or missing transactions
• Assist finance team with any ad hoc queries

2.2 After probation period (Bookkeeping role)

• Record all financial transactions in the accounting system
• Maintain and update the general ledger
• Ensure correct allocation of transactions to appropriate accounts
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts (e.g., debtors, creditors, cash, VAT)
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Monitor outstanding balances and ensure proper aging
• Assist in the preparation and maintaining the trial balance
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Provide financial information to management
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Assist with payroll processing and reconciliations
• Ensure statutory deductions are correctly recorded

3. Minimum Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2-3 years’ relevant experience within a financial services environment
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks);
Strong Microsoft Excel skills

5. Reporting Line

Reports to: Senior Accountant > Finance Manager
