Bookkeeper Half day (JB1931)

Roodepoort, Johannesburg

R7 – 9 000 per month, negotiable

Duration: Contract, 4 months

Overview

Financial Services company with offices based in both Johannesburg and Cape Town are looking for a half-day Bookkeeper who would be responsible for maintaining the financial records of a company by recording the day to day financial transactions.

Working hours for this role are 08:00 – 13:00 daily. This position could be adjusted to a permanent, full day role after 4 months, with a salary increase to R13 000 per month, negotiable.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate qualification in accounting, finance or business is an advantage

Good knowledge of bookkeeping practices is vital for success

Knowledge of GAAP principles and procedures

Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis

Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Sage Pastel Partner

Duties and Responsibilities:

Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts and computer printouts

Allocate and post financial transaction details to subsidiary books

Transfer data to General Ledger

Reconcile and balance all bank accounts daily

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

Prepare payments on all bank accounts

Assist with monthly journals and month end entries

Assist with audits

Maintain complete filing system to support financial records
