SUMMARY:
Our client, based in Melrose, Johannesburg is currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant. The right candidate must have at least 2-3 years’ experience and should have previous experience working with a group a companies.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or in a related field.
Essential: Exposure to SARS and Taxation rules.
Essential: Pastel exposure.

Roles and responsibilities:

Maintaining records of Financial transactions by establishing accounts.
Responsible for the full Payroll function which includes capturing of leave requests.
Compliance in Legal requirements.
Developing and maintaining of systems to account for financial transactions.
Allocating, posting and verifying transactions.
Preparing reconciling entries and trail balances.
Responsible to maintain the General Ledger.
Filing of documents.
Submit management accounts to the Financial Manager for reviewing.
