A national storage services conglomerate seeks an experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance team based in Johannesburg East.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A national storage services conglomerate seeks an experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance team based in Johannesburg East.

The purpose of this role will be to perform the financial accounting function for cashbook and banking, for the South African group of companies.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Key contact person within the group for bank and cash queries
Control of 30 cashbooks and monthly reconciliation of such to bank statements for 15 companies
Daily bank statements and capturing bank balances
Processing payments
Process interbank transfers
Processing daily and monthly cashbook transactions
Accurate and timeous daily receipts, including debit orders
Preparation and distribution of interdivisional debit notes
Control of 22 petty cash cards & credit cards
Review petty cash reconciliations
Full function accounting for property companies
Maintain daily filing

Education:
BCom in finance or accounting

Job Experience & Skills Required:
3 to 4 years' experience in a full function accounting role is essential
Sage X3 experience highly beneficial
Strong Excel skills
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Work well under pressure
Deadline driven and results orientated
