Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Our client operating within the Engineering industry is searching for a dynamic individual to fill their current Bookkeeper vacancy within their Johannesburg East based finance team. If you have extensive Bookkeeping experience within the same and/or similar industry, please apply!

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and/or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree and/or National Diploma (NDip) specialising in Accounting
• Minimum 3 years’ previous working experience within a similar Bookkeeper and/or Payroll Administrator position
• Previous working experience within the Engineering industry is highly advantageous
• Advanced Pastel, Payroll, Sage, and Microsoft Excel software skills are high advantageous

Job description & Skills:

• Compiling management accounts, cash flow statements, and annual financial statements
• Ensuring that all annual statutory requirements are fulfilled
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and the SARS Accounts up to date including submissions and payments
• Applying for BEE certificate, letter of good stands, and tax clearance certificates
• Ensuring that annual statutory requirement are met
• Managing the tax exemption applications and ensuring that VAT verifications are correctly and timeously submitted
• Processing monthly payroll
• Reconciling payroll to accounting systems
• Raising and reconciling all instalment sale agreements
• Raising monthly depreciation, salary, and wages journal
• Assisting with ad hoc activities and/or duties to ensure that payroll related reports are regularly provided
