Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
The ideal position for a Bookkeeper with a BComm or BCompt degree and at least 3 years relevant experience.  Quickbooks will be an advantage, MS Excel and good communication skills are essential.
Applicants must be available to commence employment immediately.

Duties and Responsibilities
o   Maintaining records according to IFRS and generally accepted accounting principles including the recordation of journal entries, asset depreciation schedules, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation of bank statements
o   Applying strong accounting skills, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and all bookkeeping through Trial Balance
Statement preparation
Participating in activities needed to support the management functions of the team
·         Accounts Payable:
v  Monitoring invoices
v  Coding invoices with the proper general ledger information and obtaining approval for payment
v  checking invoices and ensuring bills are paid in a timely manner
v  Checking/reconciling expense card/credit card statements
·               Accounts Receivable:
v  Billing customers for services
v  Preparing and sending invoices to customers and ensuring they are entered into the proper accounts in the accounting system
·         Banking:
v  Entering payments into the cashbook system
v  Reconciling monthly bank statements, and correcting any discrepancies
