Bookkeeper

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records by efficiently recording and reconciling daily financial transactions. This role is essential to the integrity of the company’s financial data and supports compliance, audits, and reporting functions within the finance team.

POSITION INFO:

Primary Accounting Duties

• Accurately process daily financial transactions across multiple bank accounts.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare and process weekly and month-end payments.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Support audit processes by compiling working papers and providing supporting documentation.
• Maintain a systematic and complete filing system for all financial records.
• Reconcile supplier and customer accounts on a regular basis.
• Perform month-end close activities, including raising provisions for royalties and rebates.
• Reconcile speed-point and point-of-sale transactions.
• Manage rental invoicing and payments, including the maintenance of an up-to-date rent roll.

Qualifications

• Matric (Senior Certificate)
• B.Com in Accounting or equivalent certification (or currently pursuing an accounting qualification)

Experience

• 3–5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting support role
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and general accounting practices
• Experience working with reconciliations and monthly financial close procedures

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Strong computer literacy and adaptability to various accounting systems
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Familiarity with reconciliation processes and financial reporting requirements
