Bookkeeper

Our client is a provider of professional food service equipment. They are based in Cape Town, and they are seeking a Bookkeeper to join their growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to develop their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

Accounts Payable / Receivable

Process all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

Cashbooks Management

Perform daily bank imports and bank reconciliations.
Manage petty cash transactions and records.
Reconcile and process credit card transactions.
Load weekly payments via Paysoft.

Creditors (Accounts Payable)

Capture a limited number of non-stock invoices.
Perform monthly creditors reconciliations.
Oversee the loading and processing of month-end payments.

Debtors (Accounts Receivable)

Process credit notes and ensure accurate allocation to customer accounts.

General Administrative Duties

Scan, save, and file import documentation; develop a working knowledge of the import process.
Perform various administrative support tasks as required.
Provide backup support to the Debtors Clerk and Receptionist during periods of absence, including taking over their responsibilities as needed.
Assist and support the Financial Manager in day-to-day tasks and ad hoc duties, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.

Key Requirements

Reputable tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.
5+ years of work experience as a Bookkeeper.
Experience in cloud accounting software such as Xero.
Solid understanding of accounting principles.
Proficient in MS Office.
Familiar with a collaborative team environment.
Uphold and promote the company values and culture.
Adaptability and the ability to use initiative.

Salary

Between R23 000 and R25 000 cost to company per month based on experience.
