SUMMARY:
Trade Tested Boilermaker (Red Seal) required for Manufacturing Environment based in Magaliesburg with cranes / hoists / lifting experience with completed apprenticeship

POSITION INFO:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To manufacture products, as per the approved drawings in the Manufacturing Department.  Providing the customers with safe products and material handling solutions that meets their requirements and exceeds their expectations.  Achieving sales targets and growing the department.

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum education and qualification N2
• Qualified Boilermaker (Red Seal Certificate)
• Contour marking
• Plate forming
• ARC welding and MIG welding
• Angle iron smithing
• General construction
• Working at heights
• Legal Liability
• Hazard and Risk assessment certificate
• Health and Safety

 

Skills:

• Communication
• Able to work independently, without instruction.
• Able to maintain stock and consumable levels.
• Ensures that all equipment in the department is safe and checked before use.
• Completing Planned task observations. (PTO)

 

Experience:

• A minimum of Five (5) years’ experience is required in a Manufacturing environment and must have complete an apprentice ship with an accredited training facility.
• Ensures all equipment is manufacture in accordance with local regulations, SANS and/or “Best Practice” which could be company or customer specific

 

Knowledge:

• Must have general knowledge of different types of steels in the manufacturing process.
• Knowledge of Quenched and tempered steel.
• Product knowledge

• OHSA, MHSA and Local and International Standards

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Internal Communication:

• Communicate with your Office administrator / Storekeeper / Manager.
• Interact positively within the organization by making use of systems as well as written and verbal contact to ensure accuracy.
• Communication within departments.
• Ensure that when visited by customer/s to be polite and friendly.

 

Artisan:

• Manufacturing all products in accordance with the manufacturing procedure.
• Manufacturing all items from approved drawings or In-house instructions by management.
• Assist with plans on career development actions for all possible employees.
• Continuously drives the housekeeping and appearance of the manufacturing department.
• Manage allocated hours / per job to ensure that these are not exceeded.

 

Administration:

• Ensure that damaged stock is reported immediately.
• Checking existing documentation and systems frequently to ensure that administrative errors did not occur. Assist in rectifying errors if found and notifying the relevant persons responsible.
• Channel relevant documentation to the internal sales and administrative departments as and when required.
• Check all re-certified items process that units stay within their deadlines.

 

Receiving and Dispatch:

• Ensure accurate receiving of goods and monitoring / reporting discrepancies for the manufacturing department. CRM
• Ensure that documentation is correctly signed and dispatched as and when required.
• Ensures that all manufactured and re-certified items been thoroughly checked to ensure that all signs and legal compliance are adhere to.
• Ensures that the signage is correct and checked to the physical item before signing of the sales order.

 

Stock:

• Assisting with stock-taking functions, as required.
• Inventory planning to ensure efficient stock rotation and minimal wastage or scrap.
• Ensures efficient storage and handling of inventory and tools, and preventing loss through theft, damage or errors.
