Boilermaker

SUMMARY:

Looking for a well-experienced Boilermaker based in Durban to be part of a project engineering team.  Must have been involved in a wide variety of projects and be familiar with the manufacturing of steel components and new installations.  MUST be Trade tested (BOILERMAKER) with a minimum of 5 years experience after qualifying.  Min 5 Years’ experience in TIG welding

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements:

• Qualified Boilermaker
• Minimum 5 years experience after trade.
• Min 5 Years’ experience TIG welding
• Mechanical Aptitude.
• Safety Awareness.  

Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Thoroughly understand and implement work requirements on-site as per supervisor’s/contract manager’s specification.
• Able to perform basic calculations and manual work.
• Read and interpret drawings and transmitting the information from the drawing to materials.
• Advise supervisor of material requirements for the execution of work where necessary.
• Cutting, Guillotining, Nibbling. Punching and Bending.
• Assembly of parts and tack welding.
• Good manual dexterity with the ability to use tools and machinery.
• Multitask and assist with the roles of team members when required (i.e. semi-skilled worker and general worker).
• Understanding that work may be required on more than one site, hence traveling will be required.
• Reporting any safety, environmental, health, and quality issues to site supervisor.
• Adherence to Health and Safety/Quality in the execution of work activities.
• Willing to undergo a basket of assessments to establish aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
