Benefits Manager

SUMMARY:
A reputable organisation has a position for a Benefits Manager! This is a permanent position based in Pretoria.

POSITION INFO:
POSITION  : BENEFITS MANAGER
AREA           : PRETORIA, GAUTENG
SALARY     : MARKET RELATED

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To assist the organisation with the development and implementation of a value-adding benefits programme for members and beneficiaries. The role also includes supporting the Fund with analysis and reporting with respect to the services offered by its Administrator.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Completed Post graduate Degree in Business/Finance/Statistics or a related field (NQF level 8)
• Minimum 7 – 10 years’ experience in a Member benefits OR a product development environment
• Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of value-adding benefits or rewards programs
• Quantitative analysis of large amounts of data for use in product development
• Solid understanding of the pension funds industry
• Understanding of member benefit structuring
• Value-adding benefits programme development
• Relevant legislation, regulations and procedures e.g. Pension Fund Act, Government Employee Pension Fund law, 1996
• Understanding of legal compliance

• Research and analysis of the Company''s demographics to assess the needs of members and beneficiaries
• Develop creative and financially viable ways of meeting the needs of members and beneficiaries without impacting on the liabilities of the Fund
• Develop and implement an operational model for the value- added benefits program
• Develop meaningful discounts and rewards that will encourage voluntary savings and improved claims experience
• Implement and monitor the effectiveness of the value added benefits program
• Liaise with PIC in the design of member benefit products linked to the Fund’s investments.
• Advise the Board of Trustees, through the Benefit Administration Committee, on the potential impact of benefit structure changes on the Fund.

• Evaluate solutions to members’ need for housing loan products.
• Monitor and report on existing and future housing loan product offerings
• Assist with implementation of the pension backed housing guarantee
• Monitor and report on the administration of pension backed housing guarantee
• Make recommendations on suitable solutions to the Board of Trustees, through the Benefit Administration Committee.

• Conduct research into national and international member benefits industry and best practices.
• Plan for and oversee the implementation of the amendments to the Fund’s pension benefits, including the funeral benefits and child’s pension.
• Implementation of the following value-adding benefits: Additional voluntary contribution scheme and Preservation fund

• Ensure that benefit administration is performed in accordance with the Fund rules.
• Assist with evaluation of performance measures in terms of the Service Level Agreement
• Collate performance data and reports to assess compliance with contractual terms.
• Compile reports and recommendation on administration services of the Fund.
• Compile reports on the Fund’s positions with regards to member benefits administration/modernization.

• Ensure that member queries are attended to in line with SLA
