SUMMARY:
One of the leading Pulp & Paper company based in Germiston (Johannesburg) within a plant is currently looking for a Baler Maintenance Technician with the following skills & experience:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ensure all Baler Machine and Compacting Equipment maintenance requirements are addressed and resolved, performing maintenance functions on all Baling and Compacting Equipment at all sites throughout the company, keeping all equipment operating optimally and in good repair.
Setting and maintaining a high standard of plant availability by instilling a “Best Practice” approach to maintenance.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Perform accurate on - site assessment of job requirements in order to obtain full understanding of what materials and work is required for successful completion of job
Install/apply all safety and preparation elements, securing site from accidental damage
Perform Maintenance/Repair work in most efficient and cost-effective manner possible, applying best practice
Perform route cause analysis
Restore work site to optimal condition as per Health and Safety regulations and good housekeeping practices
Conduct site inspections at sites throughout the company, ensuring that maintenance and upkeep of Compacting and Baling machinery is kept up to standard and proactively addressed
Ensure that Hot Work documentation is completed accurately and submitted to the safety officer
Supply feedback to Baler Maintenance team regarding all maintenance work done for the month
Supply feedback to Branch Manager regarding maintenance work done at site, including details of all work executed during job
Accurately complete job cards regarding every job to be done
Communicate all costs and time requirements to the Branch Manager and Baler Maintenance Technician and secure all necessary approval for every job
Maintaining good housekeeping of maintenance area including vehicles, tools and equipment

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

Matric – N4 Essential (Both Electrical & Mechanical);
Code B/C1 Drivers’ Licence Non – negotiable;
Qualified Millwright Essential;

Job Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ plant maintenance experience in continuous manufacturing or field service maintenance
Computer literacy beneficial (Microsoft Office Suite);
Availability for overtime/weekend work
Team Leadership experience
Reliable self - transport
Health and Safety Training
Willingness to work overtime as well as weekend call outs
Electrical and hydraulic drawing understanding
