POSITION INFO:

Our client, operating in the finance industry and based in Port Elizabeth, is currently looking to employ a Typist / Data Capturer of Financial / Balance Sheet Information.

Please Note: Caseware experience is a minimum requirement! 

 

 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • Typing of annual financial statements.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Basic Bookkeeping Diploma would be advantageous
  • General administrative experience
  • A sound knowledge in accounting and compilation of financial statements
  • Excellent computer literacy:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Caseware
    • Greatsoft
  • Strong typing skills / accuracy
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work scheduling and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive draft financial statements.
  • Log on recording book – Caseware, Word.
  • Word – Retype onto system with current year.
  • Word – Prepare financial statement templates where needed.
  • Caseware – Process journal entries / adjust journal entries where possible; remapping of figures where required / requested.
  • Assist staff in Caseware related queries and changes as required.
  • Print sets of financial statements.
  • Trusts – ensure trust declaration is typed.
  • Close corporations – ensure CIPC letter is typed when required.
  • Prepare debit note – Greatsoft.
  • Sets handed in for calling over.
  • Corrections made.
  • Issue general ledger info sheets where necessary.
  • Print extra copy of qualified audit report (for L Battle).
  • Back-ups of Caseware for clerks to the network.
  • Print journal entries and trial balances for clerks, bookkeepers and partners on request.
  • Prepare list at month end of outstanding debit notes.
  • Record PI scores provided in typing register and inform audit managers of any PI Scores not recorded on the system.
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by the Office Manager and Partners.
  • Support all Partners and Office Manager.
  • Work independently.
